Our free website analyzer currently uses a 100-point checklist. Some checks are always relevant, while others are conditional based on the type of site, the pages scanned, and the signals we find during the analysis.

The goal is simple: help you spot the technical, SEO, trust, user-experience, and generative AI search details that most business owners do not realize they are missing.

SEO Fundamentals

  1. Homepage title. Checks whether the homepage has a title tag, whether it is a reasonable length, and whether it avoids generic wording.
  2. Homepage meta description. Checks whether the homepage has a meta description.
  3. Canonical tag. Checks whether the page has a canonical tag and whether it matches the preferred live URL.
  4. Meta robots tag. Checks whether the homepage meta robots tag is present and whether it could block indexing.
  5. X-Robots-Tag header. Checks whether the page sends an X-Robots-Tag header that may block indexing.
  6. Open Graph tags. Confirms presence of title, description, image, URL, type, and site name tags, and verifies description/title character length best practices.
  7. Twitter card tag. Checks whether a Twitter card tag is present for social sharing previews.
  8. Internal page meta descriptions. Checks scanned internal pages for missing meta descriptions.
  9. Duplicate page titles. Checks whether multiple scanned pages share the same title tag.
  10. Homepage H1. Checks whether the homepage has one clear H1 heading.
  11. FAQ schema on FAQ pages. Checks whether scanned FAQ-style pages appear to be missing FAQ schema.
  12. Internal links on the homepage. Checks whether the homepage links to other internal pages.
  13. Key pages linked from the homepage. Checks for homepage links or signals for key pages like Contact, About, Services, Privacy, and Terms.
  14. HTML Language attribute. Checks whether a valid language attribute is defined in the HTML tag to support search engines and accessibility.
  15. Heading hierarchy. Checks whether subheadings (like H2 or H3 tags) are used to organize copy into a readable hierarchy.
  16. Duplicate meta descriptions. Checks whether multiple scanned pages share the exact same meta description tag.

Content and Structure

  1. Homepage content length and template copy. Checks whether the homepage has enough written content to explain the business clearly, detects if the site relies on client-side JavaScript (like Next.js or React) without server-rendered HTML, and flags unreplaced Lorem Ipsum or template placeholders.
  2. Thin internal pages. Checks whether scanned internal pages appear to have very little text content.
  3. H2 headings. Checks whether the homepage uses H2 headings.
  4. H3 headings. Checks whether the homepage uses H3 headings.
  5. Empty headings. Checks for heading tags with no visible text.
  6. Heading order. Checks whether heading levels skip in a way that may hurt structure, readability, or accessibility.
  7. Top-of-page service clarity. Checks whether the top of the homepage clearly explains what the business offers.
  8. Copywriting focus (customer vs. self ratio). Evaluates whether the homepage copy focuses on the customer's needs and experiences (using "you" / "your") rather than talking inward about the company (using "we" / "our" / "us").

Technical Checks

  1. HTTPS. Checks whether the homepage resolves securely over HTTPS.
  2. Mixed content. Checks whether an HTTPS page is loading insecure HTTP resources.
  3. Structured data. Checks whether JSON-LD schema is present on the homepage.
  4. Mobile viewport tag. Checks whether the page includes a proper mobile viewport meta tag.
  5. Response time. Checks whether the homepage responds within the current speed threshold.
  6. Robots.txt presence. Checks whether a robots.txt file exists.
  7. Sitemap declared in robots.txt. Checks whether robots.txt includes a sitemap reference.
  8. Sitemap URL security. Checks whether the sitemap reference uses HTTPS instead of HTTP.
  9. Homepage found in sitemap. Checks whether the homepage appears in the sitemap that was found.
  10. Images missing alt text. Checks homepage images for missing alt text.
  11. Images missing width and height. Checks homepage images for missing dimension attributes.
  12. Favicon. Checks whether a favicon is present.
  13. Exposed phpinfo files. Checks if common PHP configuration information files (like phpinfo.php or info.php) are publicly accessible.
  14. Directory listing exposure. Checks if directory browsing is enabled on common folders, exposing internal file structures.
  15. Exposed technology versions. Checks HTTP headers for detailed web server and programming language version disclosures.
  16. Clickjacking framing protection. Checks for response headers that prevent clickjacking framing attacks.
  17. Domain expiry warning. Checks whether the domain is expiring in the next 90 days.
  18. DNSSEC security. Checks whether DNSSEC (Domain Name System Security Extensions) is enabled for your domain.
  19. Text compression. Checks whether resources are compressed using Gzip or Brotli to speed up load times.
  20. Code asset minification. Checks whether referenced CSS and JavaScript files are minified to reduce asset sizes.
  21. Next-gen image formats. Checks whether modern formats like WebP or AVIF are used for homepage images.
  22. HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS). Checks whether the secure HSTS header is configured to force secure HTTPS connections.
  23. Secure session cookies. Checks whether session cookies include Secure and HttpOnly flags to prevent session theft.
  24. Referrer-Policy header. Checks whether a secure Referrer-Policy is defined to avoid leaking referral path data.
  25. Content Security Policy (CSP). Checks whether a Content-Security-Policy header is configured to protect against data injection.
  26. Broken images and resources. Scans referenced homepage assets (like stylesheets/scripts) to ensure they load successfully.
  27. Social preview image validity. Verifies if the og:image URL is absolute, secure, and successfully accessible.
  28. Structured-data syntax validity. Detects malformed structured data (JSON-LD syntax errors) instead of only checking for its presence.

Conversion and UX Checks

  1. Obvious contact method. Checks whether the site clearly shows a real phone number, email, or strong contact path (and flags dummy numbers like 555-5555 or example.com emails).
  2. Clear contact path. Checks whether at least one strong contact signal is present.
  3. Form labels and functionality. Checks whether homepage form fields appear to have labels or aria-labels, and verifies that forms are properly wired to a submission backend.
  4. Form autocomplete. Checks whether common homepage form fields use autocomplete where appropriate.
  5. Top-of-page CTA. Checks whether there is a clear call to action near the top of the homepage.
  6. CTA strength. Checks whether the top CTA may be too subtle.
  7. Pricing visibility. Checks whether pricing is visible when that would be helpful for conversion.
  8. Trust signals. Checks whether the homepage appears to reference testimonials, reviews, ratings, or similar trust elements.
  9. About page path. Checks whether the site appears to have an About or Team path.
  10. Copyright notice. Checks whether a standard copyright notice is present in your footer and up-to-date with the current year.
  11. Privacy Policy link. Checks whether your homepage links to a Privacy Policy page.
  12. Terms of Service link. Checks whether your homepage links to a Terms of Service page.
  13. Social media profiles. Checks whether the page links to the business's official social media channels to establish authenticity (and flags placeholder links pointing to "#" or @yourhandle).

Local SEO and Business Identity Checks

  1. NAP information. Checks whether scanned pages appear to include business contact and location details such as name, address, and phone (NAP) patterns.
  2. Local contact completeness. Checks whether a local-looking business may be missing strong contact details.
  3. Partial NAP or local signals. Checks whether the site shows local-business signals but only partial location or contact information.
  4. Local applicability. Checks whether a full NAP check is really relevant for this type of site.

DNS and Domain Checks

  1. Base domain resolution. Checks whether the main domain resolves properly.
  2. WWW domain resolution. Checks whether the www version resolves properly.
  3. WWW vs. Non-WWW canonical redirect. Checks whether visitors to the alternate domain version (www or non-www) are cleanly 301 redirected to your primary canonical domain instead of serving duplicate pages.
  4. Homepage URL canonicalization (index document redirect). Checks whether visitors to default index files (like /index.html or /index.php) are cleanly 301 redirected to your root homepage URL (/) to avoid duplicate content penalty.
  5. DNS TTL settings. Checks whether DNS TTL values are unusually low.
  6. Domain age. Checks whether the domain is older than 5 years to command stronger trust.
  7. Future registration term. Checks whether the domain is registered for multiple years in advance to signal long-term business legitimacy.
  8. Mail Exchange (MX) records. Checks whether valid MX records are configured for custom email routing.
  9. Authoritative citations outbound. Checks whether the site links to reputable external resources when citing information, building page trust.

Extra Title and Heading Quality Checks

  1. Title length. Checks whether the homepage title is too short or too long.
  2. Generic title wording. Checks whether the homepage title uses generic words like Home or Welcome, or default framework titles like "Vite App" or "Create Next App".
  3. Missing H1. Checks whether the homepage is missing an H1.
  4. Multiple H1s. Checks whether the homepage has more than one H1.

Extra Canonical and Indexing Consistency Checks

  1. Canonical format and URL consistency. Checks whether the canonical is absolute, points to the clean public URL, matches the page being served, and flags stray staging (e.g. *.lovable.app, *.vercel.app) or localhost URLs.
  2. Canonical vs Open Graph URL consistency. Checks whether og:url and the canonical tag disagree.
  3. Broken internal links. Detects and flags scanned internal links that return 4xx or 5xx HTTP error responses.
  4. Internal redirect chains. Identifies internal links routing through multiple redirects before resolving.
  5. Canonical target health. Confirms canonical targets point directly to live HTTP 200 URLs instead of redirects or errors.

AI Optimization & Generative Search (AIO / GEO)

  1. AI search bot access (robots.txt). Checks whether search-enabled AI crawlers (like OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot, and Applebot-Extended) are permitted to index content for AI answers.
  2. Entity verification (sameAs schema). Checks whether Organization or LocalBusiness schema includes sameAs authority links to verified external profiles for Knowledge Graph recognition.
  3. Topic and service taxonomy (knowsAbout / hasOfferCatalog). Checks whether structured data explicitly declares your core areas of expertise and service catalog.
  4. Content citability and direct answer formatting. Checks for structured comparison tables, bulleted steps, and direct definition blocks that AI Overviews extract for answer snippets.
  5. Machine-readable llms.txt standard. Checks whether an /llms.txt file is present to provide AI assistants and LLMs with a clean Markdown overview of your company and services.
  6. Content freshness and modification timestamps. Checks for datePublished, dateModified, and timestamp markup to confirm actively maintained content for time-sensitive AI queries.
  7. Author attribution and E-E-A-T credentials. Checks for author bylines and Person schema to establish trust and author authority for generative citations.
  8. Breadcrumb structured data. Checks whether BreadcrumbList schema is active to help AI engines map site taxonomies.
  9. Content readability. Analyzes paragraph sentence density and readability scoring to check for extractable content summaries.
  10. Sitemap validity. Confirms the sitemap is successfully fetched and contains valid XML syntax.
  11. Sitemap URL health. Verifies if the URLs listed in the sitemap respond with direct HTTP 200 codes instead of redirects or errors.
  12. Noindex pages in sitemap. Flags sitemap URLs that contain "noindex" blocking directives.
  13. Robots-blocked sitemap pages. Identifies sitemap URLs that are blocked from indexing by robots.txt disallow rules.
